'' What the heart desire the mind inspires ''.
The independence of Somaliland is not in jeopardy nor has it ever been in danger of external influences. The creation of falls narrative to justify the campaign against the inevitable (the recognition of Somaliland) is nothing new to its people and leadership. The illegality of Somaliland unification with Somalia is one that is a fact and recorded in the books of history. Time and time again this great nation has been acknowledge by its most important ally its people. The people of Somaliland has acknowledged, accepted and endorsed their democratically elected government through the ballot box in the last two decade.
I can give examples of why Somaliland is a beacon of hope for not only the horn of Africa but the world. I can point out to the nay Sayers that it had more election then Somalia and Eretria combined. That it is the only country in recent history of African politics that has had an opposition controlled parliament. I will not mention the fact that it is one of few countries in the continent with multiple successive and peaceful elections.
I would not think of wasting their precious time by shedding light on the success of Somaliland government as a result of its home grown political dynamics that is based on tradition and modernity. Oh no not I sir, I would not dare bore them with such facts because it lacks sensationalism and colorful adjectives. History when told subjectively and viewed through the fogged lenses by bigotry and ignorance can become the tales of legends. T o simply say the People of Somaliland were not the only victims of Siad is a bit of a stretch and ungodly. If we are now equating the genocide of an entire group with the reactionary of a dictator to a political discourse, we need sit back and reevaluate our true intentions.
Let us for moment explore the psychological disorder of the so called Somali unionist. The symptom of psychological disorder is Seasonal affective disorder also known as (SAD).this condition manifest its self in lack of interest in people, depression and exhaustion. In the case of the Somali Unionist, their SAD story begins with the mischaracterization of tribal politics in Somaliland by repeating the same old, tired (exhaustion) and baseless nonsense “it is a tribal controlled enclave, the majority of its people do not support the recognition of Somaliland and its government is oppressive”. Their narrative continues to lay out a fabricated cause and effect analysis by shifting the blame (DEPRESSION) of all the ills of Somalia to Somaliland independence. It is worth noting that it was the Hutu like behavior and the lack of will and vision that has destroyed Somalia not the independence of Somaliland.
They conclude their narrative by telling the people of Somaliland to Jump in to the fire of hell (LACK OF INTEREST IN PEOPLE) and join Somalia. The natural questions in the minds of many in Somaliland are where was the love of the so called unionist when every major city and village in Somaliland was under the constant bombardment of Siad and his brutal regime? Why did they not express this love to their neighbors when they were being pulled out of their homes in the middle of night in Mogadishu for execution simply because of their tribal affiliation? Where was this love when it was desperately needed to save the lives of small children being buried alive in wells, their live stock poisoned, their mothers and sisters raped and their fathers and brothers bodies laid out in the middle of the town as a show of force and intimidation?
The biggest asset of a good salesman is his reputation which allows him to grow his client base (referrals) through good product and better service. You see to salesmen referral is a sure goldmine; it does not require any advertisement expense nor does it require whole lot of selling and imagination. Referral is generated by previous clients who are completely satisfied with the product and the services of the salesperson. Referrals come to a salesman with great deal of reservoir of goodwill because they were referred by someone they know and trust. Trust is a major component along with product knowledge to being a good salesperson. In the case of the unionist they cannot be trusted because they have sold the people of Somaliland bad product (Siad Barre) and when they failed to remedy (bad service) the infectiveness of their bad product, their inaction not only cause them to lose their current client( Somalia) but also any hope of future business( Somaliland) through referrals.
The people of Somaliland lost any hope of rectifying the situation and were compelled to seek a total refund of their hard earned independence. Bad product along with the lack of product support (justice) was a deal breaker and as the old saying goes fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. The people of Somaliland are NOT buying what the unionists are selling irrespective of their advertising (Lies) and product placement . They sold them the promise of union and nationhood but delivered death and destruction. They have now reappeared with the same product in a different location and operating under the Subsidiary of ANTI- SOMALILAND INTERNATIONAL LLC.
The assumption of opening shop under a different name will allow them to get back into business is simply undermining the intelligence of all Somalis. It has been proven that this product has a SHORT SHELF LIFE and it will not be able to withstand the durability and competitive advantages of democracy. The government of Somaliland does not have to coach its public or require warning labels for the unionist product. It is the people unanimous rejection of their evil product and the overwhelming preference of democracy that has replaced their manmade syntactic environmentally hazards Unionist product called dictatorship. We siad it before and we will say it again thanks but no thanks.
As they say in the South” forgive them for they know no better” and the people of Somaliland pray for the unionist entangled soul, that it be free of this evil web of ignorance and bigotry. They also pray for their Somali brothers and sisters that they find a pious and righteous leader who is guided by the compass of justice, liberty and equality. May compassion and common sense be its guiding light.
