Let us begin with what we could possibly conclude from the reports made by the international police (Interpol) and the related considerable statistics about the rate of the crime within the Somaliland, which is deemed to be the least amongst all Arab countries and all African ones and numerous countries within Asia, Europe and both North and South America.
However, we would quote the underlying statement made by the Somaliland representative to the United Nation Mr. Augustine Mehaingha dated 5/12/2011, in which he declared that “the security and stability enjoyed by Somaliland is not available in various recognized courtiers of the world”.
Why do I choose this foreword? Because the investment in each and every place in the world is associated with the security and peace therein. I do hereby support and defend the investment in Somaliland, from patriotism perspective, as we do not want someone who would sink us with loans while in the same time he (the lender) can invest in the country and carry-out lucrative projects\businesses for the benefit of all parties wherefrom.
As for the loans, they can be invested by us and in an effective way that may achieve fruitful utilities to us, but we have to pay hefty interests!!
It is better to mention certain useful information about that live with the spring of democracy since 1991, the date of the declaration of its own independence. The population of the Somaliland is about 4 (four) millions persons with total area of 173,300 km2 and it occupies the 91 ranking among the countries of the world in respect of area.
Somaliland is considered as an attractive tourist destination in the African Horn and it has an elected democratic government and the election process to be run under an international supervision and neither there are neither armed men nor armed militias with its territories and the arms is always restricted in the hands of the security and army personnel.
In Somaliland there are reputable seven universities which graduate numerous students with various disciplines which would constitute qualitative addition that may support the development and progress, prosperity of the country and help in boosting the any developmental plans and strategies therein.
However, currently we are facing unemployment with youths especially the educated\graduated ones, therefore most of them resort to migrate to the outside world in search of a better living conditions, and some prefer to navigate through the sub-Sahara in an effort to cross for Europe despite the enormous risks and hardships, instead they see these risks is less sweaty than to stay jobless and may commit wrongful acts punishable by the law and society.
The security in Somaliland is attributed to the natures of the communities which is utterly denouncing the crime and further to that the efficiency of the security forces and our community does not accepts any thief, killer or kidnapper, as this is prohibited and deplorable by the family, tribe, neighbours and so forth.
So, why should I go through all this, why should I say so? All the foregoing is for the sake of Somaliland … for the love of my Somaliland …. For the glory of my Somaliland …. and to stress and re-iterate that Somaliland is land of opportunity, so come along and grab it…..
Let us proceed with the merits of the Somaliland:
- In Somaliland there is a metal called “Compete” tantilete which is important in the manufacture of electronics, gold, oil and certain metals. And in addition to that the Somaliland has the biggest reserve of gypsum in the world.
In Somaliland there are charcoal and steel and a project of liquidated gas pipeline is underway which will connect South Sudan through Ethiopia to Barbara Seaport and to be carried out by China which has signed agreements with Somaliland and Ethiopia.
Somaliland has a very significant animal wealth consist of cows, goats and sheep and fishery wealth and coastal strip of 900 kilometers length, the climate in the country is nice.
In southern Somaliland, there are mountains in which swarm to Ethiopian borders, the cultivation of orange, apple, banana and mango is widely spread and the heavy rain falls in spring and summer seasons and winter appear between August and February and the weather considered cool throughout the year.
The northern areas which are adjacent to the gulf of Barbara where the hill series called “Goless” Hills penetrate the country from west to east and the peak called “Sarat” which is more than 2000 meters height above the sea level.
In the coastal areas which are adjacent to the Gulf of Aden, the weather tend to be hot in the summer and the temperature might reach to 35o Celious, while it turn to be very cold in the winter, and the crafts of fishing and business are very common in the coastal area. Everything in Somaliland is incentive for the feasible investment.
Everybody should know that Somaliland is different from Somalia.
Somaliland is a country that seeks the international recognition and the international law is supporting that demand, as got its independence in 1960 by virtue of law then got unified with Somalia and once again seek its own separation because it hopes to live in peace and tranquility.
Somaliland is an independent country with full, legitimate and legal rights necessary for the international recognition.
Therefore, I can see that nothing shall prevent any one who wishes to invest and inject his money in different spheres like Aviation, Tourism, cultivation, Mining (steel\precious stones\gold etc…) and Animal & Fishery Wealth.
Accordingly, we must think once, twice and thrice of the investment in Somaliland, and constantly with the emergence of each and every dawn, there will be more reasons to encourage us for the investment in our beloved Somaliland,
