Somalilanders believe that what has been the bane for Somalis has been a boon for Kenyans.
With Somalia a thoroughly failed state and Somaliland as yet unrecognized nation, everyone who has anything to do Somaliland and Somalia has made Nairobi one’s base of operations. Almost all embassies in Nairobi are additionally their countries’ nonresident embassies in Somalia and Somaliland. Diplomats, who should have been stationed in Mogadishu or in Hargeisa, live in and work from Nairobi.
