A Message Of Appreciation from Edna Concerning Ayaan

''Neither Ayaan, nor myself, have any intention to remain in Australia longer than it will take Ayaan to have the operations that she needs''. Edna Adan Ismail

- I have been in communications for over a year with the Australian team. The list is long and each of them had a role to play in Ayaan’s case. I appreciate everything that the doctors, the members of the Brisbane Rotary Club, and the Immigration experts have done to secure the visa for Ayaan and for myself to accompany and support her during the many reconstructive operations her condition required. I very much appreciated the offer of Dr. John Arvier, an expert in facial reconstruction, to perform the operations that Ayaan needed for free.

I would like to share with the world my gratitude for all that the Australians in Brisbane had done to offer the required operations free for Ayaan and equally appreciate their shock and dismay when the Australian High Commission in Nairobi denied Ayaan the life-changing operations that were being offered to her in Australia.

I hope that their appeal will bear results and wish to assure the Australian High Commission in Nairobi that neither Ayaan, nor myself, have any intention to remain in Australia longer than it will take Ayaan to have the operations that she needs.

I will wait for the outcome of the appeal that is being launched by the Rotary Club of Brisbane.

Thank you very much,

Edna Adan Ismail
